Let’s make a difference together – we’re inviting new co-founders/shareholders and supporters to join RECASAS
Ingrid E. Johnson is currently the driving force behind our gGmbH – as founder, shareholder, and managing director. But RECASAS is not meant to remain a traditional structure. We are building a user-led organization – one in which people with lived experience of psychological distress, emotional pain, and/or trauma do not merely contribute, but lead, co-create, and make decisions.
We are now expanding our circle of shareholders and are specifically seeking individuals who have walked through crisis and emerged with insight, strength, and a desire to shape change. Your lived experience is not only welcome – it is essential to this role.
We also value expertise in psychosocial support networks, the arts and cultural sector, and fundraising. If you have experience in any of these areas and can envision yourself in a leading role within a user-led organization, we would love to get to know you. Experience managing a gGmbH is a definite plus – but not a requirement.
Our vision is global, diverse, and rooted in lived experience. Together, we are building a resilient structure and a sustainable, creative program that empowers and inspires people around the world.
Want to understand the ideas behind RECASAS more deeply?
I am currently working on two book projects. One of them, Building RECASAS – A New Approach for the Future, is being written as part of the process of building RECASAS itself. It is intended especially for potential future co-owners of RECASAS (Gesellschafterinnen) and others who are seriously interested in helping to develop the organization.
The book explores why I believe RECASAS is needed, what makes the concept different, and what it could become. I plan to make it available free of charge to people with a serious interest in becoming part of this work.

To learn more about the legal structure, you can read our Gesellschaftervertrag (Shareholder Agreement) – a translated version in English is also available.
This agreement is negotiable – we are open to adapting it together based on your needs, values, and input.
