Note: This post presents a professional biography from an early phase of RECASAS. It does not describe a role within the core team, and Cornelia Aßmann does not offer services on behalf of RECASAS. RECASAS is not a therapeutic offering, but an independent space for writing, reading, and exchange.

Cornelia Aßmann, companion

Cornelia Aßmann impresses with her diverse skills, which she acquired in her entrepreneurial activity as a self-employed craftswoman with her own shop. In the CorA-Art-Workshop-Shop, Cornelia has been practicing her craft since 2009 together with a colleague, where they sell their products, and have hosted several exhibitions for other artists, and storytelling evenings. There, she offers workshops, courses, and children’s birthday parties. The market for crafts products has always demanded creative ideas from Cornelia for selling and marketing her products and services, as well as for the organization of her business.

Since 2019, she has partially stepped back from the shop and now works as an art therapist in the day structure (BFBTS) of the Albert Schweitzer Stiftung Wohnen & Betreuen. Last year, she worked intensively on the redesign of the day structure for the users, which included analyses of the interest in individual offers, redesigning weekly plans, planning and reorganization of offerings, and restructuring individual organizational parts. She was also involved in the redesign of processes in the workflow and documentation of the daily structure.

In her role as an art therapist, Cornelia works with vulnerable individuals who are familiar with emotional crises and have experiences with psychoses and psychiatry. In this setting, Cornelia is known for her calm demeanor and authenticity with which she builds relationships. She encourages people to engage in creative activities, helping them to develop their abilities and competencies in self-efficacy, and to experience self-worth, curiosity, or relaxation in the process.

She is familiar with organizing courses and designing groups. Her teamwork skills, her resilience, her organizational talent, her joy in working, and her love for people have been demonstrated time and again in these work contexts.

RECASAS is a place for people who are struggling with something.

Some are dealing with difficult experiences, others feel stuck, exhausted, or are looking for a different way of relating to what accompanies them.
RECASAS is for people who do not want to stay alone with this, but wish to engage with it in community, through language, reading, and writing.

Our offerings are group-based — in German and English, in person and online.
RECASAS is not a therapeutic service. We do not offer one-to-one conversations, counseling, or treatment.

Participation is voluntary.
You decide how much you share — and when.

Sometimes, something new can emerge:
the possibility of telling the stories of our lives differently.

You are welcome — exactly as you are.
