What’s it about?
Discover the power of words – in community.
In this open group, we’ll read short literary texts together – poems, microtexts, or excerpts from longer works – and let them inspire our own writing.
After reading, we’ll take time to reflect and share impressions. Then we’ll write side by side for 20–30 minutes – drawing from words, phrases, or whatever is stirring within us.
The focus isn’t on writing technique, but on personal experience, a sense of connection, and the sparks words can ignite in us – especially for people who have been through difficult experiences, and for anyone seeking new perspectives.
At the end, anyone who wants to can share what they wrote during the session — but it’s just as welcome to simply listen. Sharing is always voluntary.
Participation is free – and no registration is required.
The writing program “Read. Write. Share.” takes place in collaboration with the Berlin Central and Regional Library (ZLB) and artecom, as part of the Sunday opening program at the Amerika-Gedenkbibliothek.
